what midi controller is everyone using? i'm planning to buy the
edirol (roland) pcr-30, since it's the smallest keyboard i know of
with knobs (and sliders) that send sys ex.

what's everybody else using to control evo?

Midiman oxygen 8; it has pretty much the same specs as what you listed
above, but I'm not sure about the SysEx situation. I grabbed this one
because I think it's a bit smaller than the Roland one. It will fit
on a 19" rack shelf.

Joe.

I just got the PCR-50. It's pretty versatile in terms of programming
and funtionality. No mod wheel though. I don't know much about
sysex, but I think all the controllers can send sysex messages .
Make sure you get one shipped after April as the older ones send
controller data in increments of 3. The newer ones send in
increments of 1 because they improved the hardware components.

Right now I'm using a Casio GZ-5. It's nice because it's very compact
and I don't have much room on my desk. I recently purchased a Fatar
CMK 137 to replace it but it doesn't have an octave shift on it like
the Casio. I'm thinking of getting one of those Anatek boxes that has
this function to use with it. One of my plans is to make a little Two
Voice Evolver with the CMK137 and a Picoverb. Of course, I'll need
another Evolver too.

I'm using a pcr50. The Edirol kbds are nice, but up until fairly
recently they had a problem w/ sending out data in steps...
1,4,8,11,15. If you're getting one from a shop, make 'em hook it up to
a sequencer and move a few sliders to make sure it's the newer fixed
version. It's pretty noticeable, especially w/ the pitch wheel.

I don't know if anyone but me still uses the outdated LM4 software
drumsampler. If yes, I have made a drumset with Evolver percussions
 http://www.trippler.net/files/evodrums.zip 1,5 MB-Zip-file
and a short demo mp3:
http://www.trippler.net/files/evodrumdemo2.mp3

If someone's interested, the zip contains the single samples as wav files
and it should be able to use them with other samplers too. I forgot to
convert them to mono files, so most of them are stereo wavs...

Regards

Stefan
