Tap twice on sequence button?

2002-11-08 by elcastigo

I'm away from my Evolver for the moment, but I believe if you tap
twice on the sequence button (or just hold it down - I forget), the
light will flash on and off much like the program light when
saving . What does this mean? I don't recall seeing this in the
manual...

Thanks in advance,
EC

Trigger Parameters

2002-11-12 by Paul Nagle

Hey gang,

I only got my Evolver yesterday so didn't get down and dirty with it
properly until just now. I've been tinkering with the sequencer and
especially trigger mode M5 (or MS?) - the Combi mode that means
"envelopes will only be triggered when a MIDI note is held and the
sequencer is running". Well, with mine, the sequencer continues
running even when I'm playing no MIDI notes - it is me? Interesting
choice to tune the sequencer in quarter tones and brilliant that you
can play the notes in via MIDI too. I think if you select a new row it
should step through the full length of that row and not be restricted
to row 1 - or it seems logical to me.

So far I'm *really* impressed with it. I do see what you mean about
the envelopes and their zappiness compared to, say, the Pulse but I'm
really interested in its use for solos and have found some lovely
tones already - and adding external audio into the signal alongside
the oscillators is a joy too. Just what I wanted.

What I also looked for was a mode where the sequencer triggers the
envelopes and MIDI gate triggers the sequencer. Can't see anything
like that (audio signal can do it I think, which is cool; not tried it
yet) so I guess I'll ask Dave. I also hoped the sequences would be
able to run at different clock divisions so you could have a very slow
control sequence alongside a normal speed note sequence.

I can see this thing is gonna keep me busy for quite a while! Will be
watching for tips from you more experienced dudes! Now I gotta rig up
a special lead to play it via headphones so I can sneak it to work in
my rucksack.... 8-)
