You don't tell us what output level you are using., which is the most
important thing. If you have it set at 100 that will explain it. The evo
has a lot of volume and distorts easily. I normally run the output at no
more than 39, if you still have clipping at this level I'd suspect a fault

Hey Richard, thanx for the quick response.I will check out my output
level this night and let you know if that was the problem(I hope so).

Re: Strange overload fx-input

2005-06-24 by colpaertpeter

I've found the reason for the input clipping, but I don't know if this
is normal. If I change the output settings of my Echo Soundcard from
+10 to -4 db then I can adjust the inputlevel on my evolver untill
the clipping stops. But I always work with my soundcard on +10 db,is
this signal then to hot for the evolver?I like more the sound if its
on + 10 db (I always take care that my souncart doesn't clip).
If i mute the input level and the output level on my evolver (as an
FX in) there is no output (logical) but it still's clipping. Why
doesn't the input level prevent this?That I don't understand.

Richard

You where right about the volume level. If i adjust the variuos
volumes I can use the distortion in a normal way.
Thanx

Peter

Just to be sure -- when you say "input level", do you mean the global
"Input Gain" parameter, or the per-patch "Ext In Vol" parameter?
 What's the other set to?

.Numeric stability is probably not all that important when you're guessing.

Hello Miles

Input gain is set to 0 db and the patch "ext In Vol" is also set to o.
So there is no output sound ,but still clipping.Clipping stops if i
adjust the level of my soundcard from +10 db to -4 db

Greetings
peter
