I wanted to clarify a few things:
* I hope the community "takes over".  Part of the reason I put up a Word 
document instead of just a PDF was so it can be modified.  I am sure I 
made some mistakes, and I will also be the first to admit my "drum 
tutorial" is HORRIBLE.  So let's work together to improve this.

* I hope people will e-mail me with questions, requests for 
elaborations, etc.

I want to do at least one "update" to this in a few weeks that fixes all 
the stuff obviously wrong (typos, etc.) and adds an important credit 
left under-emphasized at "press time":

Greg sent me a half-dozen thoroughly marked-up versions of early drafts 
with tons of useful commentary.  The band-pass filter stuff, for 
example, is there largely due to his input.

Rather than setting up a community site, it might be fruitful to convert
the Guide to Wiki format.  This would enable users to add their own tips
and tricks to the document, as well as expand it with new sections and
chapters.

Your thoughts?
