Thats your problem right there. You need a mixer to mix two signals - combining them that way can damage your gear. The "Y" cable is meant to be a splitter only, not a "combiner"...

But it won't damage my Evolver right?...just my mixer or speakers..correct? Would you
recommend a Y cable that has a 2 male mono 1/4" to female stereo connector instead?

It can. With continued use anyway...I'm sure the outputs are somewhat buffered but the Y cable is like short-circuiting the two outputs together...

Yes, because an adapter like that is not a "Y" cable, just two parallel cables in one package :)

Yes, sounds like self resonance but untuned filters. Or also check whether you have any ring mod on. Ring mod will make sounds even if all the oscs are zeroed.
Email Dave as there is a way to tune the filters.

It is hard to say without hearing a sample. It may just be that the resonant frequencies of the filters are slightly diffrent. Remember, it is a compleately diffrent filter on the left and right. And since they are analoug, the frequencies will vary slightly. I think the tollerance is 5%. So that would explain why the beating changes with the keytrack.
