if the people who posted the drumchik picture's link actually bothered
to say where the picture was lifted from you'd have already visited
<http://midizoo.com/namm> where i have a write-up on my conversation
with dave.

> perfect hybrid between mpc and a evolver:-)) pleeease!

nope. if you want a sampling / sequencing workstation then buy an
mpc. if you want a hybrid analogue / digital drum machien then wait
for the boomchik.

whats the point of dave & roger spending loads of time & effort
reinventing the mpc, which roger actually invented all those years ago!?

history : the linn9000 and sequential circuits studio400 started the
ball rolling then when linn went under he moved to akai and helped
them develop the mpc60 and asq10 stand-alone sequencer (best hardware
sequencer ever made). the mkII version followed, along with the
mpc3000 at which point roger linn & akai parted ways.

"whats the point of dave & roger spending loads of time & effort

Because akai haven't had a new idea since? I would love it if roger reinvented the MPC for this era! Not that I'm complaining, but even the Machinedrum has a sampling capacity these days....

the roger linn mpc's use 80's technology. why not take the good points of those machines and use 2007 technology? i mean, hip hop artists LOVE the 12 bit sound. isn't there a way to create something with the feel, the timing, that punchy sound - but with firewire or usb to connect to the pc, a smaller chassis and footprint, knobby controllers that send midi cc data, etc.....

there's a lot that could be done. it wouldn't be reinventing the mpc as moose stated. it would be taking the best from the old and making something new.

well there are new ones.. mpc-1000 2500 etc.. all of them have usb/card reader and a bunch of new state of the art sampler edits.. but what would be really cooool was a hybrid, not a sampler but a mpc sequenser with all the shit from evolver yet more voices and a mpc sequenser.. and it seem like they working on that right now!!
peace out..

the MPC500, MPC1000, MPC2000, etc., are not the Roger Linn models. completely different.... it s kind of like Akai went backwards after the MPC3000.

Re: [Evolver] BoomChik

Google is your friend. Try these links and resources to get MPC (non-evolver) information.
