Hi Ben,

the sequencers of the polyphonic DSI synth have the sequencer per voice.
Means each note starts a new sequence.
Sequencer and arp can't however be combined. You can select either sequencer
or arp mode.

Hello,

I read this WE the P8 operation manual ans some questions arised regarding
the segencer use.
I just have a mono evolver so I can compare a mono synth with a poly one but
how the sequencer is supposed to work in the P8, the PEK and the PER? Does
each notes starts a new instance or is the sequencer use limited to a single
voice? The gate time is fixed to 50% of the step time so I guess this is
always a single voice at a time except wit a very long release time.
The P8 has also an arp. How does the 2 (arp+seq) can be combined? Does the
sequencer notes triggers the arp? Does the arp triggers the sequencer?
It would be cool that even if the sequencer is mono, at least it can be
transposed by the key pressed.

Thanks for any info,

Ben.

Thank you for the information Stefan.
I think I was confused by this sentence:
"Note that each Layer can have different settings for UNISON, ARPEGGIATOR,
and
GATED SEQUENCER, which allows some very interesting combinations of sound
control. The sequences and arpeggios can have different settings and speeds,
for
example, or you can combine a unison sound on one layer with a polyphonic
sound on the other."
I guess it means one layer has the ARP, the other one the SEQ.

One more question is the sequence transposed by the choosen note or not?

Ben.

Re: [Evolver] About sequencer

If you activate the layer mode you can of course have arp mode in one layer
and sequencer mode in the other. But because the layers are basically two
independent sounds, there is no possibility that they interact in any way.

Sequences are usually transposed by the keyboard, but it's also possible to
cut the connection between keyboard and oscillators. Useful for drum
sequences for example were transpose isn't useful.

Greets

Stefan
