Program Changes

2003-02-04 by Simon <bontrip@videotron.ca>

Still in love with my Evo and working hard with it :)
I'd like to know if some of you tried to send program
changes from Cubase 5.1, if yes how ?
I can't seem to find the info and the only
way i found to do this is by using 2 different midi tracks
using the same Evolver channel, and it works.
Is there a way to send the program changes on the same track ?

Also, for this test i used 2 sounds from bank 2 that have no
sequences. However, when i start Cubase, Evo sequencer
starts as well. Is there a way to avoid this behavior ?
I think someone mentionned this problem a while back
but i'm not sure. Is there a workaround ?

Thanks for your help,

Simon

Sure. Using Cubase's Inspector - bank refers to the bank (1-3) and
program, well, that refers to the program number within the bank.

So does this mean that to do a program change you have to give the
different programs a seperate track? This is what I have been doing
as well, but it seems to be only switching programs on the first
instance of a note on each track.... so it won't switch back....

<ot>
You can use program change events at any point. Without getting too
much into Cubase VST, remember that there are Track level AND part
level Inspector values - you should use Part Level program changes and
the changes will be made as the part is passed. This isn't quite so
cool in SX (I think you can only program things at track level unless
you do them manually in the event editor) - but neither are a number
of other things so I went back to VST...

And is there a work around for this problem (see below) ?
