Keyboard mode select does nothing

Hi All, Does anyone else have a problem with the keyboard mode select? No matter what setting I choose - low note, high note, last note with or without retrig - my Evolver responds only to the first key pressed and ignores the rest. I've checked the Trigger mode (set to all) so I know that fine. I have tried this from three different keyboards - my Wavestation, Nord LEad 3 and Novation MM10 - and it is the save for all so I know the keyboard is not to blame. Any thoughts??? Reagrds, Gary

I could live with Last Note. What it's doing is First Note - which is more than slightly annoying. Makes my CS-15 more 'playable' at the moment - not better - just more playable. :) Off I go to fiddle with it a bit more... You might have a a look at the Poly Chain setting and make sure it is set to OFF if you only have one Evolver, this caused me much issue with the symptoms you are describing until Dave sorted it out for me. Don

Gary, mine works exactly as advertised, though I rarely use anything other than "Last Note" priority. I assume you're familiar with how this feature is SUPPOSED to work? If so, and it's NOT working the way it should, I think Don is probably correct - most likely the Poly Chain setting may be on, and should be switched off. So you have a CS-15? That is a *really* sweet little synth. With all due respect to Dr. Bob, I think that the CS-15 (with it's dual filters, amps, and envelopes) is an even better bass synth machine than a Minimoog. I have a 1977 CS-30L in absolutely brand new condition. It has lots more features, but an absolutely horrible front panel layout compared to the CS-15. IMO, the CS-15 probably has the best front panel layout/organization of any synth made, and it makes for a great teaching tool. Yea, I'm familiar with how it ought to work. I'm kind of used to
High Note priority (like the CS-15) but Low Note... Ugh! I hadn't
considered the Poly Chain setting - probably got changed during wild
knob tweaking. :)

I'm proud to say I'm the original owner. My parents got it for me
when I was in high school ('81) and I've had it ever since.
It is a nice unit, especially the external in. I've had lots of fun
running my guitar through it.

You can get some really nice, unique sounds from it.

In collage, I took an electronic music course at Hofstra taught by
Herbert Deutsch. He worked with Dr. Bob on the original Moog
Modular - one of which is a part of the lab there. I already
understood the whole subtractive synthesis thing mainly from playing
with my CS-15. I have to agree that as a teaching tool (as well an
an instrument) it's a great synth.

No sequence running. Really simple midi setup: keyboard midi out to evolver midi in - nothing else. As was suggested, I'm off to check the Poly chain setting. Regards, Gary
