can't save files from Soundtower Editor

can't save files from Soundtower Editor

2011-04-05 by solaristica01

Hey there.

I recently got an Evolver Desktop and am having the best of times doing drones, glitches, and hisses...

Everything seems perfect and I actually am finding the synth very easy to navigate from the matrix. But I did buy the Editor from Soundtower, mainly because I wanted to use it as a bank manager, but am having a couple of problems with it.

I cannot save files from the Library. I edit a patch, add it to the library from the User Bank, but cannot save a file. I press save, name it, and can't find it anywhere in my computer. I'm on a Mac, OS X 10.5.6... I't just not there. Is it hidden in some directory? I search for the files but can't find them. They are just not being saved...

What is going on?

I emailed Soundtower two or three times and have not heard back (which I'm finding weird, and slightly annoying...)

Thank you for any help.

I hope you are doing Save As rather than Save!

Anyway, when you do Save As it lets you choose a path. Pick something obvious...like the desktop! Execute the Save As, then switch focus to the desktop and see if the file showed up. If it did, then set up a folder somewhere on your hard drive to store patch banks and Save As to that folder.

As multiple posts here will attest, the Soundtower software is not the most user friendly :( I use it only for bank management and naming patches.

Thanks for replying!

I am indeed doing a Save As, and yes, I always choose the desktop first, then create a folder, etc... just like you suggest. But nothing, it doesn't get saved.

And you're right, I wanna use the software at this point for bank management, although it has worked well in other regards I have to say.

It is just frustrating that I emailed DSI, as well as the Soundtower people multiple times and never got a reply...

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
