quickie on filter and vca

quickie on filter and vca

2003-04-14 by linuxmanvan

Is it just me or is something not normal here? When i adjust the release on my vca it doesnt seem to do anything. If i open the relase on the filter i get all this " garbage " after i release the key. Normally, on most adsr's i have messed with, the release determines how fast the filter closes and how fast the vca ceases to produce sound in key with the note played. Now i have only been into synths for a while so maybe this is only true with the other synths i have. Someone, please clue me in here.
Thanks

The first step I would suggest would be to start with a blank,
initialized patch. Check the manual, because I can't remember where
the INIT patch is saved in the presets (seems like it was the last
patch in the first bank). Then, see if the ADSR is still behaving
that way.

When you experienced the problem, were you only checking out one
particular patch? Did you try tweaking other presets? The reason why
an INIT patch can help is that the one you were editing before may
have had some modulation routings going on that you didn't realize
were there.

yea i downloaded that one init patch that goes in bank 50. It still does not behave as expected. Im not sure why. Is there a way to do a factory reset on this thing?

Well iff you still have the original shipping patch in Bank1, Patch
1, just start the sequencer, hit the button for the VCA row and
adjust the VCA ADRS release. You should hear the sequencer go from
staccato to legato. If it is does, then your vca env is fine.
otherwise your evolver has a problem.
