Splitting 3 zone pad (TP65S) signals to different pads

2004-10-29 by vap19592000

Greetings to all..

Hope the DTXpress is keeping you all quite busy and the exploration,
is still continuing...as usual.

Just came up with a radical idea...hoping to get some intelligent
feedback..

Subject: TP65S snare pad.

Pad Type: 3 ZONE, with 1 x pad sound and 2 x rim sound.

Connection: Stereo cable from module to pad.

Question: Is it possible to "SPLIT" the zones, and assign them to
SEPARATE pads(2 x PAD SOUNDS...original pad and another pad for dual
snare; RIM SOUND #1 to another pad; RIM SOUND #2 to another pad. So I
am using a TOTAL of 4 pads including the TP65S.

Example: PAD SOUND leave as is on the TP65S, but send this signal to
another pad for a DUAL snare. (One for the left hand and one for the
right. . RIM SOUND # 1 to a SEPARATE PAD and RIM SOUND # 2 to a
SEPARATE PAD.

Assumption: I figured that if I SPLIT the SIGNAL from the module as
such, I MAY be successful.....please acknowledge..

1. USE A "Y" STEREO CABLE. 1 X OUTPUT STEREO SPLIT TO 2 X STEREO
OUTPUTS.
2. ON STEREO OUTPUT # A: ADD ANOTHER "Y" CABLE WITH ONE OUTPUT STEREO
TO TWO MONO OUTPUTS. CONNECT MONO #1 TO RIM SOUND #1(PAD 1) AND MONO
#2 TO RIM SOUND #2(PAD #2).

3. STEREO OUTPUT # B: ADD ANOTHER "Y" CABLE WITH ONE OUTPUT STEREO TO
TWO MONO OUTPUTS. CONNECT MONO # 1 TO THE ORIGINAL TP65S FOR PAD
SOUND (SNARE #1)...
AND CONNECT MONO # 2 TO PAD # 4 FOR PAD SOUND (SNARE # 2).

When ALL connections verified, assign the respective PAD SOUNDS to
the respective pads in the "drum kit voice edit" mode and "trigger
setup edit" mode.

Phew!!!! does this make sense, and IS IT POSSIBLE???. Your turn
Guys???

Best Wishes and HAPPY DRUMMING!!
