We're making progress! I hadn't switched off, so I did that, unplugged, plugged one in to tom1 and hallelujah it worked! However, it disappeared again when I plugged everything else in. So I unplugged, switched off and on again, and again tom1 was fine. I plugged everything in one at a time, checking tom1 after each connection. It was fine until I plugged the snare in (the socket next to it), when it stopped working again. The only one I hadn't plugged in at this point was tom2. Does this confirm the suspicion about a bad connection at the socket? Thanks for sticking with me!
