Yamaha DTXpress/DTXplorer/DTXtreme

Hi there guys,
 I have DTXpress2 for 2 years now and since the begining I have this annoying problem 
with setting up the kick pad(I don't remember the model number of the unit but it's the 
one that comes with the DTX 2).just can't respond as a real kick drum and I get a lot of 
lost hits.I've tried all the different setting in the TRIG MODE but nothing really works.I work 
in a club every night and this problem drives me creazy.has anyone had simmilar problem 
and had found solution to it?I just want to know if it could be the pad itself or it's just the 
settings that I don't tune well.It's a great kit though!
