I suggest instead of getting the Special you should go for the standard DTXpressIII kit and add on in the future if u feel like it ..... I just got mine 2 weeks back .... and Oh BOY !! :) am really satisfied at my decision..... I had similar qs in the mind like u ..... to answer your second qs: The snare is a 3 zone pad ... u can play rimshot, accents, ghost notes, cross sticks etc. just in a style you would play an acoustic snare .... you would be surprised how realistic it is ... even though the normal setups are correct u can even adjust the sensitivity and velocity of the pads ( i mean how hard you should hit to have the desired vol etc. ).... the only thing i miss is the positional sensing .... :( ... You can get more information at http://dtxperience.com/dtxpressIII.php http://www.dtxpressions.com/ This is a decent review and description of the package dimensions and components model numbers: http://www.kraftmusic.com/catalog/drums/2966 Go for it ....u would not regret .... and if at all u can always add a couple of acoustic percussion to it ;) ..... regards.. --- Keith <keith@...> wrote: > --- In DTXpress@yahoogroups.com, "walkacrossfire" > <walkacrossfire@y...> wrote: > > I'm interested in some details I can't seem to > find out before I buy. > > What's the diameter of the snare pad?
