The 9/10 input is not intended for a PCY65S.  It is intended for using
two mono pads and so is unlike the other inputs which are meant for
dual zone pads.  It expects two piezo signals rather than one piezo
signal and a rim switch.

The only way I know of to connect two pads to 9/10 is with a dual mono
to stereo splitter such as:

This will put the piezo signal of one pad to the stereo jack tip and
the piezo of the other pad to the stereo jack ring.  If the pads are
dual zone the other zone will be ignored.
