Earth, what earth!  Devices which use wall power supplies usually
don't have earths - this includes the DTXpress.  I am no expert in
this area but differential signals are often used to eliminate earth
loops, hum and pickup problems.  Something like this

to the PA may be of use if the PA can accept a differential input. 
Before you spend any money though, it may be worth getting some advice
from someone who knows about such things.  The local music shop may be
able to help and sell DI boxes.
