Yamaha DTXpress/DTXplorer/DTXtreme

Hi guys,

I recently purchased a free standing hi-hat for my Dtexpress III as 
shown in the photo in the home page of this group. Anyways I now have 
an extra pad which was my old hi hat controller.

I want to use it as an extra tom, but when I look behind my controller 
module, I can only see one free input which is a symbole input. 

Is there a way I can use this pad as a tom? Also I don't have any free 
cables. Would a regular stereo 1/8 inch cable do the trick?
