I'm the guy that got the CY-5 to work on my DTXpress III kit. A few months later, it is still working fine. The only slight complaint I have about it is that like the Yamaha cymbals, the piezo is up by the bell, far away from the playing surface. That isn't an issue at all wiwhen playing the bow of the cymbal, but when playing the edge of the CY-5 (when you would normally do accents), then hits don't register as hard. It is really nice that the separate edge sounds do work (as does the choking capability), but an adjustment in my playing technique (a relative term, since I'm a newbie to a full-size kit)was in order. I will get the occasional mis-choked note, but they are few and far between. Overall, I've been really pleased with that addition to the kit. The CY-5 is so much more playable than an tom pad as a hihat. You may need to be a bit creative in mounting. I cut up a spare arm from one of my old Ultimate Support keyboard stands to raise it up to a more natural position. I'll try to post a picture tonight of my mounting job so you can see how it looks. If you can find a good price on the CY-5 and a clamp/L-mount, it is definitely worth it. Good luck!
