Re: [DTXpress] Kick Pad problem

2001-12-08 by Brian

Hey everybody. I'm new to the group, and will soon be buying my first electronic kit. I'm really starting to lean toward the DTXpress, but all these kick pad problems are starting to freak me out a little. I really don't wanna be in the middle of a gig, and have the thing start acting up. Our Band plays anywhere from 2-5 gigs a week, so reliability is a serious issue here. Dose yamaha make a better kick pad then the KP60? Another question...Are you folks that are having problems having trouble with the older DTXpress kick, or is this happening to the newer upgraded version also? Any info will be put to good use, so thanks in advance.

Yes, the kick pad seems to crap out. I was getting double triggering on mine for a while before it finally died. I would recomend getting a quality trigger like a Pintech.
On a related note, I broke two beaters on the damn KP60. Maybe I was just too hard on the little bugger... ;)

Hello all, has anyone had any problems with their kick pad??

I have been having problems with mine. Mine seems to go in and out. I
am not sure if there is a short or what. I am using the KP60 kick pad
that came with the set.

If I end up purchasing a new one, do you have any sugestions on an
upgraded or better model?

Thanks

Tim H.
