Yamaha DTXpress/DTXplorer/DTXtreme

Hi Brian (and everyone else),

I do not know if this will help or not, but when I
picked up my kit, the KP60 had been modified.  Someone
had removed the polarity switch and gain control,
basically wiring the trigger right to the output jack.
  I can't say that I have noticed any mis-triggers
from it at all, and it responds very well with both
soft and hard hits.  Is there a chance that the
mis-triggers are caused by the use of cheap pots and
switches? I haven't missed not having either a
polarity switch or a gain control on the pedal at all.
 Any of you electronic types reading this want to
weigh in on this theory?
On your other question on pedals, Yamaha does make an
upgraded version which is a KP80S. I have a Pintech
Vertikik as  my other kick pad, and it works well too.
