Hi Guy's,

When Yamaha loaded the DTXpress IIs, they seemed to
load them with the Snare and the HH set to not play
nice with each other. What you need to look for is
the settings for Specific Rejection (not the plain
rejection or Self rejection) on the snare and HH
trigger settings. I suspect you will find the problem
there. Post 2572 (and a few others before that) was
for a similar problem. The way I would approach
setting specific rejection is to start with a value of
0. If you experience false triggers when you hit
another pad (for example if you hit the HH and the
snare goes off) then I would raise the value of
specific rejection on the snare, so it is less
sensitive when the HH is hit. Does that make sense?

For your problem with havoing to stand on the HH pedal
to get a closed sound, I think the parameter you need
to adjust that is called FC Offset. If memory serves
me, it is in the Utilities section, but these days, I
spend a lot of time thinking about the hereafter . I
go somewhere to get something and then wonder what I'm
here after.
