Well, okay, I guess I'm in. Matt may be more qualified for this than I am, but since the waves for bass frequencies are longer, wouldn't it take longer and further for them to propagate? High frequencies do have at least the psychological illusion of being faster, and (Matt?) poor tweeter design, among other things, can interfere with the path of high frequency sound waves.
