A few things to try: 1. Isolate the ENTIRE set from it's surroundings. This can be done by purchasing a sheet of plywood and some large "super" balls (solid rubber balls kids play with). Cut the balls in half and place them under the sheet of plywood. Cover the plywood with thick carpet pad and some carpet. This should effectively isolate the kit from the floor. This is assuming the floor is wooden (pier/beam) and is transferring the sound to the surrounding apartments. 2. Put the kit in the room furthest from the tennant who complains. Possibly in a room that has an outside wall. If at all possible, you could furthor isolate the room from the stick/pad sound by placing egg-crate type foam rubber on the walls. They sell large sheets of the stuff at bedding stores for low $$$. Many times, hospitals use the stuff for padding beds after surgical processes and they throw a bunch of it away. Find a nurse and or surgical tech and ask if they have some spare. 3. Play with the lightest sticks you can find. I know this may be the hardest thing to do because it can affect your playing style, but it makes the least noise, and in my opinion, can also improve your speed and accuracy. :) 4. Go to you tennant association meetings and PARTICIPATE! I don't mean just show up when you are summoned, I mean go and play an active role! Run for office! Why shouldn't *you* be the homeowner association president? If you were the president, the roles would be reversed! I also suggest that you work WITH the b*tchy person and see if you can find a way to get the sound down to a level they can live with. Explain that for you its the same as watching TV or dancing. If you were a tap-dancer for a living you would have to practive your craft. show them the lengths you are willing to go to to try and reduce the intrusion into their environment. OF course, if the person is still unreasonable, you may also try complaining about the level of their television to the cops b4 they call them on you! ;) Hope some of this helps..... :) Vern -- Vern Graner CNE/CNA/SSE | "If the network is down, then you're Senior Systems Engineer | obviously incompetent so why are we Texas Information Services | paying you?
