Yamaha DTXpress/DTXplorer/DTXtreme

I just picked up a used DM5 to augment my DTX, and I have a question 
or two for anyone familiar with the DM5.
Are any of the trigger inputs of the DM5 stereo, so that they could 
accept both signal from a Pintech dual zone Zenbal?
How does the HH foot pedal function with the module (which trigger 
input)?
Can you layer sounds, and set velocity parameters on the second sound 
as you can on the DTX?
My original thought was to run cymbals and percussion through the DM5 
and the true drums sounds through the DTX. However, I didn't have 
much luck last evening setting things up as I had hoped.
Any help, hints, tips or advice is appreciated.
