Stephen I sold my DM5 two years ago, but Here is what I remember. The inputs are all mono. There is a dedicated HH footswitch input.It is just a momentary switch; open and closed. no in-between. You can't layer sounds. I used mine for triggering from acoustic drums, and a couple added pads. For that it was excellent.What I did like was four outputs(two stereo pairs.) I had snare on one, kick on one, toms on one and accessories on one.
