Re: [DTXpress] Bass drum pad

2000-07-10 by Giles Hearn

Sticks get splintered when you start hitting real
metal cymbals (and rims). If you play with sticks that
have been used on an acoustic kit, you may risk
damaging at least the cymbal triggers on the DTXpress
since the splintering is localised in that area.

When I bought my kit, the next thing I got was some
fresh new sticks and I've played the same pair for 6
months now and they're still as good as new!

If you play a hybrid kit (with real cymbals) then you
still should be OK since the area of the stick that
gets damaged isn't likely to come into contact with
the pad rubber....unless you play rimshots all the time.
