Hey Mike!  I have the same problem with my Iron Cobra double pedal 
as well.  The right beater's felt is also more black than the left 
as well, along with more visable wear on the right side of the kick 
pad.  I'm not sure how to go about adjusting the actual pad, but I 
know that some pedals allow the adjustment of the actual beater to 
be moved up and down, thus striking the rubber head in a higher or 
lower position.  I don't know if that would bother your playing any, 
but just a suggestion if your really worried about it.
