I have also noticed this wear and am beginning to worry about the 
life expectancy of the pad. I thought that if I were to put a strip 
of wide black electrical tape on the pad where the beater contacts 
it, this may protect the pad. Also being very thin I recon that I 
shouldn't have to make any adjustments. What do you think?
