Noise & Neighbours

2003-09-23 by freefunky12

Greetings,

I see there already exists a few posts regarding this subject.
I'm a swedish drummer that just recently bought a dtxpress, mainly
to perform vigourous practicing. At the time a live in a dorm room.
Apparently the set creates some noise disturbing the neighbours on
the fourth floor (right below me), though I haven't really got it
properly verified since the no-namer chose to go via the land-lord.
And this is, by the way, without me having a bass-pedal yet (will
get it soon). How do all of you other dorm-room dwellers go about
this? I try to tighten all the clamps properly. I have two rugs
beneath the set, even though I'm considering a third. But what the
f**k: I never play after, say...nine o'clock, always with my
headphones on, so it's not LOUD. As i understood it from the unknown
complainter, it was merely a question of me practicing for a long
period of time at a time ( which is not true....only 1,5 hr so
far....a warm-up). So they can perceive the sweet tampering above
them for a few hours a day, but this is a student area. Parties
everywhere, loud music (although not every day).....so it's a wee
bit of double-standard. I have however encouraged the no-namer, via
the landlord, to go and see me in person.....then we'll
see.....until then I'll keep my workout intact.

Bye,
Rick
