 The TMX goes back to what, the early to mid-90s? You'll recognize 
the roots of subsequent yamaha modules in it. I think that the 12 
inputs are all mono, though advertised as "stereo" collectively 
because they can be panned. It did have some nice features, many of 
which you'll recognize. See what you think and let us know. As long 
as you're not looking for fancy-dan features, these old birds can be 
perfect second modules; my MIDIkiti Pro from the same era is still a 
viable piece of e-drum equipment. In your case, however, the absence 
of rim-switch capability may be its downfall. I'll tell you one 
thing, though; it had a beautifully written manual. Yamaha should 
have been so conscientitious with the DTXpress. Some of the issues 
common to both modules are handled far more intelligibly in the TMX 
manual.
