Yamaha DTXpress/DTXplorer/DTXtreme

That is just assigning a sequence (from the DTX internal sequencer) to 
be started from a pad strike.
Grab your owner's manual (the purple one) and start reading at page #20 
look for 2-7. Pad Song.
