I hope that we can share in some of the excitement to come. I don't know whether you have any MIDI in your future with the kit, but if you bought the DTXPress II, the first thing you should do--before any programming--is a factory set (Utility 1-6 in my old DTXpress I manual). The module ships with a bug that prevents the system from setting MIDI note numbers from the outside until you take this simple step. We all found out the hard way. Downloading capability on the DTXpress is limited. DTXchange is a utility that allows you to store kits on you PC, or swap them with other DTXpress owners. You can find it at our sister site DTXpressions.com, along with a lot of other useful information. We won't load you up with a lot of confusing information at this point (unless you want it), since presumably you won't be unpacking the unit for another couple of weeks. But the collective resources on this site are pretty comprehensive should any snags arise (and they probably will; the DTXpress is a complex piece of equipment). In the meantime, welcome, welcome, 1,000 times welcome. When the time comes, please encourage your daughter to visit and participate. Ed
