Hi Keith,

The standard edition of the III resembles the II, except for the 
additions and improvements to the module and the collapsible curved 
aluminum rack. The SP edition has all that plus the new hi hat, the 
round cymbals (one double-switch, one single switch, and one mono), 
and the new hi hat on the stand. The SP would certainly be more worth 
the wait, but it will also cost a few hundred dollars more. You can 
take some comfort in the fact that if you buy the II now instead of 
either III, you can upgrade to the three-sound cymbals later; they're 
compatible with inputs 2, 6, and 7 on the II's module (right, OGD?). 
You could also buy the new module later a la carte. But I was under 
the impression that the II was in serious short supply over there, as 
here, and the dearth will get worse in two months rather than better. 
No?
