Hey John
I have found that treble setings both on the amp and in the utiity menu
make a HUGE difference in cymbal volume. The PA I am using for live work
seems to adjust treble starting in what i think of as mid-range and a
small adjustment there makes a very large difference in kit balance.
This is a very big subjective difference compared to my 'phones. At
first I tried to fix this using the gain settings for each cymbal pad-
almost no difference. I have also noted that the high frequencies "beam"
considerably so it is important to have a monitor facing me as close to
ear level as possible. Otherwise I am sending a trble-heavy signal out
to the crowd.
Good luck.
