Interestingly, I just took my left hand side frame apart and refitted the units so that the snare clamp is inner ( towards the front of the rack - ie further away from you ) and the hi hat is outer - it feels a lot better as the hi hat pad is in a more natural ( well for me anyway ) position with the snare between my legs and the hi hat over to my left. Feels a lot better. Can post a pic if you like ? One thing that someone may be able to help with - the brain - do you think it would be better mounted off the frame on a seperate stand as it seems to me it gets a lot of vibration sat up there from the pads - will it come to any harm ??
