RE: [DTXpress] Re: Wow @ Behringer KX1200

2004-05-29 by Glen D. Earl

Thanks Rob, I appreciate your input and information about the KX1200. I
really am looking forward to getting, setting up, and playing my
DTXPRESS III. I currently have a Tama Rockstar acoustic drumset with
quite a few added pieces of hardware and drums, however, when I demoed,
real briefly, the DTXPRESS III at the Music Store it seemed to have a
much better playing response (recoil) on the heads, etc. than my
acoustic set has. I was quite impressed with the playing of it,
however, the sound system which they had it connected to and the
headphones that were hooked up to it really sucked, big time, so I can't
really say how I feel about the sound of the system other than I was
pretty impressed with how much the acoustic drum kit sounded so much
like the real thing. That's why I posted some request messages earlier
on the group asking about amplification for the DTX because other than
the Rolland and the Yamaha speaker systems, which are advertised for
E-drums, no one really seems to know what other type of good
amplification that can be used with the E-drums. When DAZ answered my
request back mentioning that he had a Behringer KX1200 amp and that it
worked quite well and especially that it only cost between 225.00 and
300.00 dollars, I was extremely interested. That's when I got on the
WEB and started searching around and found one for $249.00, so I ordered
it and received it on Thursday. I tried it with my Epiphone Les Paul
Guitar and it works great with that, however, it isn't really designed
to be a guitar amp and I'm excited to try it with the DTX so I can hear
what I'm missing. Any way, I'm getting extremely excited about
receiving it on Tuesday. Thanks once again for you comments. At this
point I just appreciate anybody's comments I can read about the DTXPRESS
III or the Behringer KX1200 amp, because, it helps me pass the time
until Tuesday gets here and then I can have the time of my life, so it
sounds.

Thanks Again,
Glen

Ohhhh Glen, you are in for the christmas of your life, and you are
getting the III?? I have the II. More about the amps performance, I
have bose triport headphones, plugged into the drum module they sound
amazing, but I put all the sound through the amp, and the bose into
the amp, the quality went from sounding like 150 to 350 dollar
phones. So that amp can really cover the low to highs, its too much
for me to turn it up in the house....(neighbors). I can't wait to go
to a rental and let it loose, I listend to it at the store next to
the roland 300 which is considerably more, the 15" compared to the
rolands 12" hit harder, plus I have seen comments on the rolands
highs lacking, the KX's are crisp. I wish I could see a video of you
pulling the kit out of the box, and then finally sitting on the
throne.....priceless.
