Yamaha DTXpress/DTXplorer/DTXtreme

Sorry if this is obvious, but, are you using a stereo cable?
Is it possible that the there is a short between the tip and ring
connections? Check also to see if both plugs are in all the way.
Actually, I have one guitar amp jack that won't work if you push
the plug in _too_ far.
