Sorry, wasn't paying attention and didn't realise you had a III.

It's worth mentioning, but the odds on them doing something about it 
are negligible. 99% of users use stock configurations of pads and 
kits, so from ahard-nose Product Management perspective why should 
they bother?

"Lose" is rather an extreme statement. They will all still be there 
and be usable in some form. But if you've swapped pad types (put a 
tom pad on a cymbal input) the mappings won't be useful.

No. But I have a very custom setup, have had a DTXpress for over a 
year, and haven't even come close to using all the user kit slots. I 
think I'm up to 66, and that's only because I haven't cleared out 
some experimental setups. I guess I have ten kits I use regularly.
