Press SHIFT-PAGE UP to activate the MUTE Function in SONG mode.
Besides that each of the four percussion "tracks" can be manually
deactivated.

Hi Tom
Rhythm magazine which comes out every month
has a couple of different play alongs with
drums removed.
You can always play along to midi files with
the drum channel muted too!
Hope this helps

Hi errr,
I dug this up for RM:
http://www.futurenet.com/rhythm/magazine/default.asp?
pagetypeid=2&articleid=29519&subsectionid=1764

Does it come with a CD every month?

I don't know anything about midi files. Are there any on the
internet I could get a hold of and listen to? Where does one get
them?

Thanks,
TomBk

Hi Tom (& everyone),

Here's a link that will help you get started with midi files;

http://www.vanbasco.com/

This site has a search engine specifically for finding midis on the
internet (there are lots). But the real gem at this site is
vanBasco's Karaoke Player (midi player) which is a free player
available for download from this site. The player is easy to download
and install, and I've run it under both Win98 and XP -it hasn't caused
any problems (it's stable, doesn't contain spyware, etc.). The
program has many features for musicians - it provides control over
each midi track (tracks can be muted or soloed), it has a playlist
feature, it lets you adjust playback speed, and for keyboard players
like me, it even has a piano keyboard that shows the notes as they
play, and lets you transpose.

By the way, I've been lurking on this list for about a year now, but
this is my 1st post. Hi all! I'll put together an "introducing
myself" post soon, as I just purchased a DTXpress IIIsp and expect to
have lots of questions.

Hoping the midi info helps,
Jim (sixtiesrokker)

Hey, Jim,

Thanks for the karaoke tip and welcome to the world of e-drum flap
jaws (or, should I say, itchy fingers). When you get around to that
introduction, I'm eager to find out what's behind your moniker
"sixtiesrokker."
