Where to sell DTXIII Special

Where to sell DTXIII Special

2004-10-27 by uac235

I came across a DTXtreme IIS I couldn't pass up and now I have an
extra III Special Edition. Has anybody had any good/bad experiences
selling and where would be a good place to post it for sale? I saw
that there is a buy/sell database on this forum but doesn't look like
anybody has ever posted to it. Would appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks, I kind of considered eBay, but a couple of my buddies have
had difficulties with dishonest and outright fraudulent buyers and
eBay didn't live up to their promises of seller protection. That's
why I was wondering if there were any drumming specific sites that
would work and in which people have had positive selling experiences.

About the price, I'll contact you and anybody that may be interested
privately. That way we'll spare the uninterested parties the back
and forth dealings involved. I didn't mean to use the forum as an
advertisement platform, so I apologize for that...

If you have any questions about the kit and the price, please email
me directly at jvillamil@... and I'll be happy to answer.

Thanks

Jaime

Hi Jaime,

I'm looking to buy a used III or IIIS minus the throne, bass pedal
and HH stand.

I bid for some kits on eBay, didn't win them, and then got a bunch
of fraudulent second offers. There is a ton of fraud going on in
the drum kit section of eBay. I would only be willing to buy a kit
from an unknown private seller on the internet using escrow.com or
some other buyer protection(s), which generally provide seller
protection also.

I'm wondering what that database is for myself. Is it to post for
items desired, or only for transactions completed?

Tom,

I sent you and a couple more guys some info on the kit and for some
reason I think my email is not getting out. If any of you guys wrote
me and I didn't respond, I apologize. Hopefully I'll get my email
straight. Write me again and I'll try responding.

Anyway, I've seen first hand what happens on eBay with fradulent
buyers and sellers. I guess the rule of thumb is that if it's too
good to be true, buyer beware...

I hadn't heard about this escrow.com. Have you actually used it
before? What do they charge and how does it generally work?

Thanks,

Jaime

Hi, It's OK, I just saw it.

I found it when I was researching a way to buy a kit online from a
private seller. They act as middleman for the $ and protect seller
by guaranteeing payment. They protect buyer by guaranteeing
delivery and that product is as advertised and working. I think it
would cost about $35-45. for a purchase in the price range of a used
IIIS.

I haven't actually used it yet. Has anyone else? It sounds like a
nice setup for protection and peace of mind for both buyer and
seller.

Tom,

When the current group of moderators inherited this group, there was
alot of spam/porn. At that time we decided to limit commercial
advertising of products here. If a members asked about a specific
product, a company can respond to that request, but they can't just
start advertising their products here. One company that is
represented here that does an excellant job at supporting this group
and staying within the bounds is Ed Morin at Drumbalaya.

This left a gap for members here to buy/sell their goods. One choice
was to allow posting in the database area, that way it would not
interfere with the daily posts. If someone wanted to buy/sell
something, they can go there and then take it offline through PM.

Our sister site hosted by one of the moderators here (VERN) also has
a classified area. (www.dtxpressions.com)

Hey I will buy the hihat for a good price, and give you my hat hat
pedal and pad from my dtxpress II to boot so you can still sell it
as a set. Let me know.

Coachman,

I don't believe I would be able to sell my Special Edition kit
without the RHH, it's kind of the corner stone of the system. I
would suggest looking at Drumbalaya to see if they have the pads
available for purchase. Thanks for the interest.

Dtxperience site.
