Where's a good place to buy DTXpress components (pad mounts)?

Where's a good place to buy DTXpress components (pad mounts)?

2004-10-28 by zapaxe

Hi,

I have the original DTXpress I kit and rack system, with some
upgraded dual pads, cymbal pads etc...Also I have 3 modules,
DTXpress I & III, also a DM Pro module.
Since I have spare drum & cymbal pads laying around with all these
modules, I've been thinking about mounting them to my existing
DTXpress rack R-60??? to extend my set-up. But need more mounts.

Another thought was that this DTXpress I Rack system I 'believe' is
a different size tubing than the other DTX II & III rack?

Thanks, Steve

Hello Steve-
You are well on your way to create a REALLY BIG DRUM SET. I suggest
everyone start at Drumbalaya- www.drumbalaya.com. They have lots of
stuff and some of the best stuff they have is advice. I believe rack
diameters have stayed the same, tho the rack for the DTXpress III is
much better looking and sturdier than the one from the I. ( some of us
have noted that the tom mounts seem to move more easily with play than
before)

Hi Creighton,

Thanks for the reply, I'll check it out! I did but a 'shorty' pad
mount bracket last night off ebay for like $23.00 INCLUDING , the
guy also had a slighly longer one for like $30.00 PLUS shipping.
Used of course!

A year or so ago, I called Musician's Friend and they directed me to
a place (by phone) to buy Yamaha DTX parts, but I could NOT find
where I bought my kick pad replacement sensor from...? They also
said they sold extra bracings & tubes for the rack, pad mounts
etc...
I can find SOME stuff on ebay, but you really have to keep your eyes
out for a while to find a specific item.

I suppose I can always buy another 'complete' kit, take what I want
from it, and turn around and sell the remaining unwated parts
individually...? Hmmm...?

Steve

Thanks again, Steve
