KP-65 kick pad wear

Dont know if anyone will find this useful, but after trying a sticky bass drum pad on the KP65 to reduce wear on the rubber surface it doesnt appear to stick very well (as noted elsewhere in this forum). I tried a black Fablon patch (plastic covering with a sticky back - bought in 1 metre square - cut a circle out) its thinner and sticks well. It does a great job of protecting the rubber outer layer(been hammering the life out of it all week and its still like new). off to play some more :)
