problem with midi output

2005-03-05 by pilamaan

hi
i've a dtxpress III se and i manage to record and play midi file with
cubase. But the pc have big problem to recognize the midi connection
and i've often to reboot or to unplugged and replugged my usb midi box..
i think that the problem comes from the drum brain witch send
permanent midi informations, because the output led of the usb midi
box is flashing continusly... perhaps there's something wrong in my
module configuration.
I'm a beginer in electronic drum and thanks everybody for help

The best I can do at this point is to throw out a few suggestions for
you to investigate on your own: (1)Try changing your setting for MIDI
thru on Cubase; you might be overloading the system with a continuous
loop. (2) Check your MIDI buffer to make sure that it's large enough
to handle the data. (3) I remember reading about something called
Active Sensing, whereby a MIDI device is constantly monitoring an
active connection to another one; see if Cubase has anything to say
about disabling it. (4) Do you have something coninuously playing,
like the metronome on the DTXpress?

thanks ED
i'll check up what you explain, but i think all is good exept active
sensor!!! when i play a midi file in cubase, the dtxpress play it very
well, but it doesn'nt work properly in the direction brain to
computer. the click is off, but a midi signal is always send by the
dtxpress.
