HH pedal problems

2005-03-28 by afunkydrumr

Somethings been wrong with mine since day 1. I treid adjusting it and
seem not to be able to get it to open/close when I want to, seems I
really have to mash the pedal down. Anyone experience a similar
problem? I have a complaint in with yamaha, just have to follow up on
it. Just wondering if anyone has had similar problem with it not
staying closed and whatnot. Thanks, Jim

I now think there may be something wrong with mine too. I also have to keep
the pedal mashed down pretty hard to keep the hat closed. Sometimes when I
want to get the chic sound I will get a foot splash sound instead. I haven't
been too concerned about it yet because I am a new drummer just learning and
I have very bad technique at this point so I was thinking this was a problem
with me. When I go for my lessons I play on an acoustic kit and my teacher
hasn't noticed any problems with my hi-hat technique yet. I am interested to
know how many people are having problems with the RHH130 hi-hat. I may have
to put in a complaint with yamaha myself.

You both just described symptoms like the ones I had out of the box.
Here's the link again in case you don't save your list messages:

I hope we don't wear out Dave and drive him to a monastery.
