Technical question re replacing single trigger pad with dual trigger

Technical question re replacing single trigger pad with dual trigger

2005-04-19 by Tim Scarborough

Thanks for answers about the Roland pad - very helpful. Nothing at
Drumbalaya at the moment but I'll keep watching (I'm in UK by the way).

Further question: if I replace the single trigger snare with a dual
trigger pad (on a DTX) can I simply use a stereo lead to get both
triggers operating? If so, will I be able to programme the voices
seperately?

Thanks
Tim

Tim,

If you're plugging into an input that will accept a rubber stereo
pad, the stereo lead is the only other piece of equipment that you
will need. However, if you don't change the pad type in the trigger
menu from a mono to a stereo option, you may not be able to program
two sounds. I didn't realize that you were in the UK. Have you tried
Thomann for a new pad? Our British members tell us that the prices
are fairly reasonable?

I second that. I bought the DTXtreme 10" 3 zone tom as snare for my
DTXpress from Thomann - cheap, quick and in stock.
