Threaded screws

Threaded screws

2006-06-18 by john@johnallsopp.co.uk

Hi ppl

Where's the best place to get new screws for the DTXpress frame?

Last year we played in a barn with an unfinished concrete floor. The
more I brushed the floor, the dustier it got, so we had to play in
concrete dust. After that, none of the screws felt right, and now I've
overtightened one and threaded it.

Thomann seem a little slow in answering, but maybe that's the only
option, but if there's another, or if anyone has part numbers, that
would be great.

Cheers
J

You could try Scheerers in Leeds - they have always been helpful.

The thread size is a standard M6 bolt. If you can't get the actual
bolts with the plastic screw-in heads, then your local B&Q should do
a packet of 10 M6 bolts for about £3.00. Probably about 1/4 of the
price for one official bolt.

This is what I'm using as I've lost a couple over the years. Work
perfectly and hold the pads nice and secure.

Have you sheared the nut or the bolt?

Either way, you should be able to get a replacement from any decent fastenings firm.

The bolt, which obviously has the nice ergonomic wingnut end so it
would be nice to get originals.
