Only getting sound when letting go of pedal

Only getting sound when letting go of pedal

2006-09-11 by ddindublin

Does anyone knows what the problem might be here.

One of the pedals only gives me a beat when i let go of the pedal
instead of when i'm hitting it.

"One of the pedals"? The only pad with a pedal is usually the kick
pad. If that is the case, I would suggest you check the cables - try
swapping the cable with the cable from another pad. Which pad is it?
Have you only just bought it? Has it ever worked correctly or has it
just started to misbehave?

Keith.

It is an extra HH that i want to use as a kick pedal. (An extra pedal
i just bought over ebay)

Checked the cables and there doesn't seem to be anything wrong there.

I see! Where have you plugged it in? The high hat pedal is
effectively a varible resistor, not a piezo pad. You can program the
normal HH pedal input to be a kick sound by programming the HH "foot
close" sound to be a kick sound, but I cannot see how you could use it
on any other input.

Just in case you miss the solution on the other thread I have copied
it here:

Plug your extra HH pedal into the kick pad input, input 1. You then
need to put the KP65 pad into a different input (probably 9/10 because
the others will probably be in use, but you will need a mono to stereo
splitter for that). Then go to trigger edit (SHIFT+TRIGGER) and select
pad 1. The last option for "TRIG IN" is HH Controller - it cannot be
set to this on the other inputs.

I have tried this on my DTXpress III and it works.

Keith.
