Problem with 9/10 Trigger

Problem with 9/10 Trigger

2007-03-10 by xaronv

Hello there,
I want to plug two tp 65 on the 9/10 trigger. I bought an Y splitter
with one stereo male jack on one side and two mono female jack on the
other.
I plug the two tp 65 five on the Y splitter and plug the splitter in
the 9/10 trigger. I only get one sound from both (it's the trigger nine
for both).
If I use the mono jack from kp 65 (kick) and I plug it into 9/10, I
get the two correct sounds.

What's wrong with the Y splitter ?

Another thing, did someone built the keith's circuit, the one that gave
the same thing than the 9/10 trigger on the other trigger. If yes, is
it possible to someone to build a couple of them for me, i buy them of
course.

Thank in advance
Vincent

The splitter must be a TRS (Tip/Ring/Sleeve) male that plugs into the
module and a TS (Tip/Sleeve) and a RS (Ring/Sleeve) on the other end.
They are listed as a "insert" cable. The cable you have must just be a
stereo to stereo splitter.

Here is one.

Vincent,

Just to clarify things - my circuit is for when you have used inputs 9
and 10 and still want more pads - it sounds like you aren't there yet!
It allows you to use the 2 zone ability of inputs 1 to 8. See
dtxpander.com

Keith.

Keith,

You're right, i need your circuit for my own snare pad that i built
from scratch. i want to have rim and snare sound on one jack.
9/10 is planned to be used for other purposes than rim trigger.
I've planned to build my own hihat pad and a double zone cymbal
(ride,bell).
So i nead at least 3 pieces of your circuit. (snare, hihat, cymbal).
As i am absolutly bad in electronic, i need someone to do that for
me. I've tried once and it was a disaster.

thank

Vincent

Terry,

I don't have a drawing, but it is fairly straightforward. You need
two mono sockets and one stereo plug.

Mono 1: socket tip to tip of stereo plug, sleeve to sleeve of stereo
Mono 2: socket tip to RING of stereo plug, sleeve to sleeve of stereo

Keith.

Terry,
I use a HOSA YPP-117 Y-Cable. It's two Female 1/4" mono into one Male
stereo 1/4". There are some on eBay - probably cheaper than from a
retail store.
