Hi Hat

Hi Hat

2007-03-20 by crzystix1

Having a prob with my hi-hat. when in voice settings, it does not
detect the closed or closedR position unless I press down on the pedal
as far and as hard as possible. even then it is inconsistant in
detecting the closed position. I took the pad apart and every thing
looks fine.
The rubber piece under the steel plunger looks fine and should be
making contact. Does this sound like a settings issue or a cymbal
issue. I also noticed that when hitting the rim it will only detect it
on certain small areas of the rim. Something tells me the pad is shot
even though is only a year old with limited usage.

Thanks in advance
Cheers

When i go into voice setting

Sorry forgot the tech info
RHH 130 Pad
DTExpress III module
HS650 HH Stand

I tried resetting mod to factory setting, still have the same issue although
slightly better.
Then played around with the HH Stand adjustments with minor results.

Did you set the trigger type for the special (SP Med or SP Dyna)? See
page 12 of the manual.

Some other questions to help..

Is this a new problem? Has it been working fine for a period of time and
it just stop working?

Have you tried swapping cables? Use two other stereo cables to connect
it to the module.

Have you recently unplugged it and move it and perhaps reconnected the
cables to the RHH130 jacks backwards? (I did this, and others have too,
because we were in a hurry)

Take the hihat pad output and plug it into the input jack 6 or 7 and set
the trigger type to PCY130S. The top pad on the RHH130 is basically
just a PCY130S with a few mods. Does the bow and edge work when plugged
into the different input? If it does then the pad itself is ok.

Let us know.

It previously seemed to be fine (although not perfect) then one day it was
totally went hay wire.
I do not recall doing anything to the settings (intentionally)

Have you tried swapping cables? Use two other stereo cables to connect it to

I have tried this with no success

Hi Rick,
Please take note of Rob's first suggestion
Did you set the trigger type for the special (SP Med or SP Dyna)? See page 12 of the manual. Did you set the trigger type for the special (SP Med or SP Dyna)? See page 12 of the manual.
I had a similar problem last time and setting the trigger type to SP solved my problem.
